---- Erdwich Zerkleinerungs-Systeme GmbH (Germany), a
leading Recycling tech supplier, announced the development of
a ‘unique’ classifier plant for non-ferrous metals which separates heavy from
light materials. The new technology fosters the complete recovery of valuable
metals. Erwich’s solution manages a high rate for a wide variety of material
mixtures such as copper, aluminum, iron, and other non-ferrous metals as well
as plastics, wood, fabric, or dust. By classifying various materials such as
aluminum, copper, or other metallic alloys, the material is freed of foreign
matter and achieves considerably higher prices in resale.

--- A group at West Texas A&M University (the US),
announced the development of stickers that can provide antiviral protection on
doors and will soon be tested for their effectiveness against COVID-19. The new
stickers are made of adhesive-backed copper-alloy foil, called Copper Clean,
which can protect door handles from viruses and bacteria. These stickers are
made with a copper-alloy that has been proven to kill 99.9 percent of harmful
pathogens, like MSRA, Staph. auerus and E. coli, within two hours. The new
invention is readapted from biological warfare technology previously made at
the university to protect soldiers from anthrax.
